What is the Sibionics CGM?
The Sibionics GS1 is a wearable sensor that estimates glucose trends in interstitial fluid and displays them in a compatible phone app. It is not a diabetes test, does not directly measure blood glucose at every moment, and cannot guarantee that a person will avoid high or low glucose.
How does the Sibionics CGM work?
The sensor is applied according to the manufacturer’s instructions and estimates glucose in interstitial fluid. It sends trend data to the compatible app. Sensor values can lag behind or differ from blood glucose, and phone compatibility depends on the exact app, model and operating-system version.
Who is the Sibionics CGM for?
Suitability depends on the exact model’s current authorised instructions, age, circumstances and phone compatibility. People who live with diabetes, use glucose-lowering medicine, are pregnant, or are considering a device for a child should follow their qualified clinician’s plan and the authorised device instructions. Routine use in people without diabetes is still being studied; use validated screening when the question is diabetes or prediabetes.
